Research Engineer

I am working with a company who are revolutionising healthcare with simple-to-use blood tests designed for the home and community.

They are looking for a research engineer to join our team in a moment of crucial growth and development. As a Research Engineer, you will have an opportunity to influence how products are developed and will play a significant role in demonstrating that our products work effectively and safely.

What you’ll do:

In this role, you will research novel measurement systems for blood analysis. You will also assist the cross-functional R&D team to develop proof of concepts for our medical devices. The team includes software engineers, product and UX designers, design engineers and electronics engineers. You will be responsible for planning and carrying out research that will be used as the basis for the development of prototypes as well as helping design clinical trials for verification and validation of final products. You will also ensure good research practices are followed at both ends of the development process and that the scientific method is used effectively across the company and our partners.

You must have:

  • A masters or PhD in a related engineering field, equivalent industrial experience will be considered

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • The skills to efficiently review scientific literature

  • Experience working with small mechatronic systems

  • The ability to work safely in a wet lab environment

  • A consistently positive and proactive attitude

  • A meticulous approach to documentation

Ideally, you will have:

  • Experience working with blood

  • Experience and interest in biochemistry

  • Good C/C++ and Python coding skills
